Format Review started life in April 1998 as Format Magazine, a 16 page fanzine. After 6 issues and 1 Special it evolved into Format Review in October 1999, where it ran for another 4 issues. A final special, back to being named as Format Magazine, was released in November 2000.

After recreating all of these old zines in 2021-22, Simon decided to relaunch the fanzine as a professionally printed venture. And that, my friends, is why this website now exists.

Over time we will add to the archive and cover some of the history of Format Magazine/Review in more detail, alongside regular releases of new issues every two months.

The zine will be available to purchase direct as a PDF initially, with a hard copy to follow. A Kindle edition will also be available to read on that platform as well.
